In the heart of the beautiful South Downs is Sullington Manor Farm. In the heart of our farm sits a beautiful cluster of ancient buildings. At the core of these is the breath-taking 14th century barn, unspoilt views and accommodation. This is a truly idyllic wedding destination in West Sussex – all yours, all weekend!

Sullington Great Barn is suitable for parties of all sizes, up to 180 guests. The barn venue is available for five days, usually Thurs morning until Monday afternoon. No rush, no sharing. Four cottages form a courtyard with the barn and provide Accommodation for three nights, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The cottages can sleep up to 20 guests. There’s also a camping location with – more sweeping views.

Better than your average barn
This traditional 14th century barn needs no adornment to be awe inspiring. Lovingly repaired, this Grade II listed barn venue retains its warm atmosphere and authenticity. Sullington Great Barn is recorded as the ‘finest’ barn in Sussex and one of the longest barns in Sussex.
The breath-taking scale means that everyone will be together in one big sociable space – your party will never be split. The barn’s wooden vaulted ceiling is draped with twinkling lights and the huge window provides a gorgeous view. Hold your wedding feast and party the night away on the dancefloor or enjoy chatting around the firepit.
The huge rustic wedding barn doors open out onto a grass courtyard, encircled by beautiful roses and festoon lighting. Perfect for wedding reception drinks, games and dancing under the stars.
The farm is peacefully tucked away from the bustle. Our approach is simple and honest with our love of the countryside, family and entertaining at the heart of all we do.
Food & Drink
At Sullington Great Barn you have the freedom to choose your perfect menu and service style for your wedding day. We’ll offer you a range of catering teams who we know and trust with seamless & friendly service but you’re not tied to any of them.
With no corkage fee on your drinks, you have the option to serve your guests your favourite tipple or bring in a bar. Plus there’s plenty of room for cake tables, photo booths, photo displays, sweetie bars or whatever makes you happy.
Bespoke weddings
This beautiful 500 year old barn venue needs no adornment to be awe inspiring and is ideal for a relaxed and romantic countryside wedding.
At Sullington Manor Farm, we only host a maximum of eight weddings each year which ensures each wedding is really personal. Our small and experienced team will be there throughout your wedding journey so that you’re able to relax.
There are few restrictions in the decoration of the beautiful barn.
Carriages and music off at midnight.
We’re happy for guests who are staying on the farm to gather around the firepit and chat the night away.
Outdoor ceremonies or church ceremonies
There is no doubt that it is an experience of a lifetime to emerge from the lovely Saxon church of St Mary’s, Sullington into the heart of the South Downs, to take the short walk with all your friends and family under the Downs to your bespoke reception in the magnificent, ancient Sullington Great Barn.
For those who aren’t into a church service, the barn is perfect for sub-dividing using our hand-made oak partitions to create an area for your own freestyle or humanist service, or to make distinctive areas for daytime and evening celebrations.
You can also have the beautiful double height barn doors as your backdrop; surrounded by the rose garden. Walk through our archway, with roses wrapped all around, and create a natural aisle on the lawn for the perfect outdoor humanist ceremony.
